Leader’s Role in Creating Company Culture
What problem do you solve?
Katie will demystify the leader’s role in creating a culture where people want to stay, feel engaged, and be productive.
What three questions do you answer?
Why is it so crucial for companies to build a happy and healthy workplace culture?
How do you measure if a workplace culture is successful?
How can companies showcase their culture now that most of us are working remotely?
Show Notes:
Culture is the glue within your organization that helps people feel a part of the company.
Focus on 2 metrics to help determine your workplace culture.
Get engagement scores.
Use Glassdoor reviews to get anonymous feedback.
Realize that even though unhappy employees speak the loudest, there is usually a kernel of truth behind it.
It helps you find your weaknesses.
Culture has never been about being in-person. It’s in the in-between. It’s in between the events. It’s in your tone and how you deliver your message. It’s about letting people know you care.
Are we engaging our employees by letting them develop?
Recognize people’s wins.
Companies should talk about why culture matters and what impact it has.
It helps your leaders get on board.
It’s important as a leader to get training to work on any weak areas you might have.
The leader must be self-aware.
You should try to learn your blind spots.
You can share with your team what your blind spots are.
Create intentional moments when you seek feedback from those that don’t usually speak up.
You may want to make the feedback anonymous.
