Your challenges leading people aren’t going away.
Neither should your confidence to lead.

Join leaders just like you.

Lead Deliberately:
Group Coaching & Training

You’ve tackled more challenges in the last two years as a leader than you have in your entire career.

After the societal awakening in 2020 after George Floyd’s murder, you feel like you’re walking on eggshells with your team: afraid you’ll offend someone or say the wrong thing.

You’ve looked to your company to provide you the training and education you need.
They have failed you.

You desperately want to be seen as a sensitive leader, who fundamentally understands (and leads with) diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging

But you’re daunted on how to get there.

And you can’t sit through another stale diversity training.

What if you could feel invigorated again as a leader?

Imagine looking at your team and seeing your impact. Creating a safe space for people of all backgrounds.

Imagine knowing your skills won’t be obsolete in 3 years.

Imagine finding balance between your own needs and the needs of your team.

Lead Deliberately

The key to leading with diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and whatever is next: is a practical application of empathy and emotional intelligence.

If you build these tangible skills, you can tackle whatever needs emerge in your team and workplace.

Lead Deliberately:

Leadership Cohort Program

In this program you’ll:

  • Find balance between your own needs as a leader and the needs of your team.

  • Identify and build respect for the perspectives of others -- especially those different from you.

  • Practice making thoughtful choices that inspire, recognize, and promote your team.

  • Uncover your habitual responses (triggers) in the workplace so you can recognize and support others when they are triggered in the workplace.

  • Develop behaviors of inclusion as habits you’ll implement in your day-to-day as a leader.

  • Fast track your emotional intelligence and empathy skills through our theatre-based workshops.

  • Get implementation support as you integrate these new skills into your day.

Explore Lead Deliberately Program

  • We’ll kick off the program with a group session to introduce you to the program, your cohort, my process, and answer any questions.

We’ll form collective goals. Then identify metrics and data you’ll collect to set our baseline where we’re starting from.

Meet 1:1 with Katie to share your personal journey as a leader and establish your individual goals for the program.

Begin mindset shift and promote connectedness with cohort. Build foundation for safe space during the program.

    SCHEDULE:

Jan 25th - Kickoff Group Session

Prework: Complete Questionnaire by Feb 5th

    Jan 26 - Feb 11 - Your first 1:1

    Feb 15th - Group Session

  • Then we’ll start the work of exploring assumptions, bias and expectations that form your gut reactions & how you lead.

You’ll start by looking inward at yourself. The more you understand yourself, the better you can drive performance with the people you lead.

Because this can be vulnerable work, I use an application of theatre techniques to provide a safe environment and gives us tools for communicating where words feel inadequate.

We’ll lay the foundation for learning inclusion behaviors by exploring the varied and wonderful perspectives of others.

    SCHEDULE:

    Mar 1 - Group Session

    Mar 15 - Group Session

  • Together, we’ll dig into micro-interactions you have regularly with your team

Get the chance to see your initial reaction and then start to make a different choice in that situation

To Lead Deliberately, you need to be able to choose your reaction and how you show up in challenging situations.

You’ll rehearse for real scenarios in a safe, supported environment.

1:1 coaching session with Katie to support your individual needs.

    SCHEDULE:

    Mar 29 - Group Session

    Apr 13 - Group Session

Apr 14 - May 6 - Your 2nd 1:1 focused on your individual skill development

    May 10 - Group Session

  • Usually, you’re on your own to integrate your new skills. Not in McLaughlin Method Programs.

During this phase, you’ll try your new skills on with your team.

Bring back your successes and challenges so we can workshop them.

Complete a values comparison and integration exercise. Focused on: “what do I value and how do I want to integrate that into the way that I lead.”

Create a personal manifesto or plan to showcase how you will contribute to a better culture on your team and in your company.

    SCHEDULE:

    May 24 - Group Session

    June 7 - Group Session

    June 21 - Group Session

  • Testimonial

“Katie took me through a unique exercise that really illuminated a dynamic that was taking place in my organization. It helped me to identify what was going on at the surface but more importantly, what was going on internally. She also helped me see how the power structure and an individual's perception played into the struggle. Katie is an excellent listener and great at holding you accountable without judgement. So much insight, so much actionable advice!”

FAQs

  • Any Leader who:

Questions how to tackle leading with belonging and inclusion.

Never had leadership training and have just been learning on the fly.

Feels like all of their past leadership training has failed to prepare them for the challenges of the last two years.

No matter if you’ve been a leader for decades or only a few months, you’ll benefit from the training and coaching available in this program.

Because this is a live program, each session will be tailored to the needs of that specific cohort. There’s no cookie cutter programming here at McLaughlin Method.

  • The program is a total of 6 months long.

  • We want to support you in creating lasting skills. It is common that coaching programs last 6 months or more.

We hate change (generally). But the more time we give ourselves to make changes, to break down changes into digestible chunks, the better we can accept the changes and integrate them into our lives.

To do the work in the Lead Deliberately program, you ultimately need time to build your skills. The 6 months allows you the time between sessions to consider the content and the exercises we’ve done. Your experience deepens over time.

Besides -- we know that you have a busy schedule with your team and life, so stretching the program over 6 months means that you’ll have less impact on your schedule each month.

  • We use theatre-based workshops to help you develop the skills you need to become a better leader who has diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in mind.

Our training sessions are highly interactive; helping you transform the way you engage your teams and create sustainable cultures by building empathy, fostering inclusive behaviors, and preparing you for tough challenges of managing people.

  • At McLaughlin Method, we believe culture must be consistently reinforced and brought into all interactions at work.

To do that, you need skills! You can’t develop skills through lectures. You need practice, rehearsal time so that when you’re in the heat of the moment, you are prepared.

We’ll take you through our signature theatre-based exercises to dissect your interactions and relationships in a way you’ve never thought about before.

You’ll hone your skills through group coaching and one on one coaching sessions.

You’ll get to learn how to inspire and motivate diverse teams, plus make inclusion and engagement priorities in your team culture.

With Katie’s powerhouse combo of her theatre background and over 15 years in the heart of business strategy, organizational development, and change management, you’ll be able to learn how to connect with people in the workplace in a more meaningful way.

  • The biggest benefit here at McLaughlin Method is that all trainings must develop real skills and go beyond theory so sessions are highly interactive, employing theatre exercises and games to go deeper while cementing the learning.
